Pluto and Dramatic Change

When T Pluto forms an angle to one of your natal points, you can count on added intensity, dramatic changes, power struggles, and possibly even death and destruction. Pluto carries a big stick and uses to chase or beat you into changes that you would not necessarily make of your own free will. Very often in our lives, we need to do things differently to better ourselves. We don’t always recognize the importance or the need or even the possibilities of how changes can be productive. For some of us (those born in or having an abundance of planets in fixed signs) change is not something we relish. ‘I have become so used to doing it this way, I just couldn’t do it that way!’ we might say or think.

For example, when T Pluto is forming an opposition or square to your N Mercury, it’s the Universe’s (God’s) way of saying, ‘Hey, you really ought to take a look at this from another angle’ or ‘It’s about time for you to think of doing this another way’. Normally, if you see this in your charts, you will understand this angle and begin to attempt to use your logic somewhat differently in regards to something represented in either the Pluto house or Mercury house (or the house they rule). Since T Pluto moves so slowly, you may have plenty of time to realize, thru subtle (and sometime not so subtle) nuances, that the change is not only necessary, but will be thrust on you as T Pluto tightens it’s orb on your Mercury. Finally, something will happen that will make you differently, whether you want to or not. Something dramatic and powerful in most case, so that you realize the Universe (God) is now not asking but imploring, you think differently in this area. While you will call it ‘having your eyes opened’, the Universe will be saying ‘this is vital to your Karma.

In a conjunction, trine or to a lesser degree, a sextile with T Pluto angling in on one of your natals, there will be more of an affirmation that the changes, or added intensity in the area represented by the planet (or point or the area of life it rules). At this period of my life, T Pluto is forming a trine to my N Pluto. For those that have been following along here at this site, this aspect would normally bring about some wonderful developments. Since Pluto rules my first house (Scorpio) these changes could be dramatic changes in myself or in my environment (how and where you live). N Pluto also resides just degrees from the 10th of career, ego, and goals, so those changes, intensity, or power could effect these areas also. Since I am an astrologer, and knowing full well how important this angle could be in my life, I have been watching and waiting like a child waits for Christmas for it come to life. For 4 long years, I have been trying to visualize just how this aspect would play out for me.

One has to take into the most complete consideration all of the other angles being formed too. Without going into detail in this article, there were some others that gave me clues, that I might be retiring at this juncture, but I had some doubts of whether I would be ‘financially sound’ enough to do it (it’s a Taurean thing, I am sure!) Anyway, the dramatic changes to my living environment, myself, and in my career, actually came quickly (another signature of a trine) and positively. Sometimes, with a trine, the actualization of the trine comes effort free; it’s like a ‘pass go, collect $200’ card in Monopoly. It just doesn’t get any better than this. Sometimes careful planning is necessary to pull it off, but pull it off you do!

I have to mention now that T Pluto also forms a conjunction in my Secondary Progression too. In this chart, Pluto forms a conjunction to the Ascendant, which to is trine to P Pluto. Thru these aspects we  actually get  ‘confirmations’ of 'dramatic changes in the self and environment’. The fact that I am quitting my job of 33 years, packing up and moving to Florida, all within a year of my first entertaining thoughts of doing it, prove again, Astrology really works.
